#MTOS: Soundtracks and Musicals

#MTOS: Soundtracks and Musicals post thumbnail image

Music makes the people come together, or at least that’s what a certain Madonna told us (and when has she ever lied to us?)  But the true importance of music can be seen in many films – take away the soundtrack and the impact of a film can be truly lost.  But exactly how far does your love of music in films stretch?  Does it stick with compositions, do you delve into obscure 70s tracks, do you sing along to Rocky Horror whilst adorned in a sexy basque and a cape?

This week’s #MTOS aims to expose your love of music, and maybe open other’s minds up to musical experiences they haven’t yet realised.

Here’s the questions that will go out on Twitter from 8pm BST this coming Sunday 8th July….

Q1: The soundtrack to a film can prove essential to convey the drama, excitement, sorrow, and passion of the scene.  Speaking of original scores first, which composer is your personal favourite, and what work of theirs would you say is the definitive? #MTOS

Q5: Occasionally in an otherwise serious(ish) film, a character breaks into a musical number (eg: Southland Tales “I Got Soul”, or Ferris Bueller’s “Danke Schoen/Twist & Shout”).  Good idea, or totally preposterous and damages the flow?  Best/Worst examples?  #MTOS
