It’s that time of year again, when the Awards season’s big event takes place, and despite the fact that most of FilmTwitter says they aren’t interested in award shows, they’ve then spent the past month moaning about films that are missing from the categories, or arguing that some shouldn’t be included for a variety of reasons. So, I guess, folk actually do care – they just seem to think it is cool to say you don’t.

Here at FilmFile, we do care, and I’ve been staying up all night watching for most of my life now, for good or bad. However, this year’s event looks to be a tad controversial, with the dropping of technical awards from the live show, and having Amy Schumer host an hour of it (thankfully we have Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall to offset that disaster), but will it impact the overall enjoyment.

So, as usual, to tie into the event #MTOS this week is all about The Oscars. Join in on Sunday 27th March at 8pm over on Twitter and answer along to the following questions as they fire out.

Q1: Looking at the nominations for Best Picture, which would be your pick, and why?  In addition, if just one other film could be added to the category, which one would it be? #MTOS

Q2: Best Actor category – again, which is your favourite, and who would you swap out and replace with another name from another film and why? #MTOS

Q3: Sticking with the top categories, Best Actress – Which is the most deserving in the list, and again, if you could swap one out, who would you pick and replace with someone else? #MTOS

Q4: The Animated Feature category – what do you have hopes for in here, and is there any animated movies sadly overlooked? #MTOS

Q5: How about the two supporting actor/actress awards? Any standout roles that you think deserve the win? #MTOS

Q6: The Directing award deserves to go to which name out of the nominations?  Which one name missing from the shortlist is a terrible oversight? #MTOS

Q7: Have you been trying to see all the nominations before the event? If so, how has that gone, and are there any sadly unwatched picks? #MTOS

Q8: They reshuffled to bringing back not one host, but three – each hosting an hour – after the response to last year. Are you pleased with the host choices, or would you have liked to see someone else take the reins? #MTOS

Q9: They seem to be altering the proceedings somewhat this year – cutting the tech awards to edited highlights, and adding in tributes to Bond and Godfather, as well as a performance of a song not nominated. Good or bad move? #MTOS

Q10: Finally, are you watching the awards tonight?  If so, are you watching alone, hosting a party, chatting with folk online, or running a Twitch stream?  #MTOS
