Based on the non-fiction book In The Skin of a Jihadist, Profile is another entry in the current wave of computer screen recording movies (such as Unfriended, Host and Spree), this time adapting the true story of a journalist who created a fake profile in order to pursue a story on how young English girls are recruited by ISIS. Using the screen recording approach as Amy (played by Valene Kane) sets up the profile and makes contact with a recruiter named Bilal (Shazad Latif). As she begins to gain his trust, she starts to fall deeper into the relationship with Bilal, and begins to doubt her current life, and sways towards fleeing the UK to live with Bilal instead.
