Plot: Spoof of romantic comedies which focuses on a man, his crush, his parents, and her father.

Julia Jones (Alyson Hannigan) has found the perfect guy, the very-British and very-unfortunately-named Grant Fockyerdoder (Adam Campbell). But before they can have their Big Fat Greek Wedding, they must Meet the Parents, hook up with The Wedding Planner, and contend with Grant’s friend Andy (Sophie Monk) who wants to put an end to her Best Friend’s Wedding.

This is allegedly a comedy – I think I have grounds to sue for false advertising!!

From 2 of the writers of Scary Movie (and definitely not the talented 2), comes this spoof of the rom-com…oh and it spoofs films that spoof other films. Alyson Hannigan is a big, fat greek (see the first film reference – subtle, eh?) called Julia Jones (she writes in her diary at the beginning – wow this is classy stuff), who can’t find a date. She sets off to see Dr Hitch the doctor of love to sort things out and…oh why am I bothering!

Dear Alyson Hannigan……No! Just NO!

The whole film is a poor excuse to try to be funny by exaggerating what was funny in the films it parodies to ridiculous levels. The art of subtle comedy is lost on the writers of this mess as we see the same jokes from films like Meet The Fockers regurgitated to totally unfunny effect. It was actually painful to sit through the short 83 minutes running time.

If you are a huge fan of the Scary Movie franchise then you will possibly enjoy this. However, if you are such a person you will not have read this review anyway as the word ‘allegedly’ at the beginning would have confused you!

Seriously – don’t bother! If you want spoof of rom-com / teen date movies go rent out Not Another Teen Movie instead – it has at least a few laughs in it!
