#MTOS: 2018 – That Was The Year That Was post thumbnail image

Another year over with, and what a year.  I mean, if nothing else stood out from this year, the resurrection of this very #MTOS every Sunday has to be one of the key elements, eh?  From that first test of the water on June 20th, not one week has been missed out since.  Bringing not only some enjoyment back to the 8pm slot on a Sunday evening, but giving my website a reason to exist (because my inherent sloth still gets in the way of me actually typing up any reviews).  I never really expected it to hit as well as it did, but I’m really pleased to have had a hand in the relaunch, and would like to take a moment to thank those of you who have joined in week on week, and submitted topics over the months.

But enough of that – onto the subject at hand.  2018 has been a busy year for films with a wealth of cinema releases, and a growing number of straight-to-streaming movies.  Over the past few weeks film folk have been compiling their top and bottom lists, but I wanted to do it differently, and run my own best and worst as an interactive experience with you wonderful folk.  So it is that this week #MTOS says “That Was The Year That Was” and takes a gander at the past 12 months.  The highs, the lows, the marvels, the…erm…DCs??

Join us at 8pm UK time this coming Sunday and share your past year with the world of Twitter.

Finally, just in case you stumbled onto this site by accident and have no idea what #MTOS is all about, here’s the rundown from the original creators of the hashtag….

Movie Talk On Sunday is an initiative to get the Twitter Film Community together at one time and one day each week to discuss various film related topics. The aim of the whole exercise, besides having fun, is to find new individuals who share the same passion for films as you do and also in the process find out about the different aspects of films. You can count on finding out about new movies, interesting trivia, and who knows even gossip.

How Does It Work?

It really is simple. There are 10 questions. We will throw out 1 question relating to the week’s topic every 10 minutes starting at 20:00 UK Time every Sunday evening. All the questions and subsequent answers/discussions, by you, should simply be followed by the hash-tag #MTOS. In your Twitter “search” you can type in #MTOS and follow what everyone is saying and henceforth answer back and take part. If you “like” someone’s answer simply Re-Tweet it like you would normally on Twitter.
